Three Boys Charged Over Alleged Rape

Three teenage boys — including two from a Sydney private school — have been charged with the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl.The three 17-year-old boys were arrested on Wednesday after the girl was allegedly attacked at a home in Sydney’s southwest on Saturday.NSW Police searched several homes in the Macarthur region and seized a number of electronic devices as part of their investigation.One of the boys has been charged with 11 offences, including three counts of rape and six counts of aggravated sex assault in company with others, NSW Police said in a statement on Thursday.Another of the boys was charged with six counts of sex assault in company with others, rape and common assault.The third boy was charged with two counts of aggravated sex assault in company with others.All three were kept in custody by police overnight and were set to appear in a children’s court on Thursday.St Gregory’s College, a Catholic school in Campbelltown, confirmed two of the accused were students.Principal Matthew Brennan said the allegations against the teenage boys were “abhorrent”.“The College has been informed by the NSW Police Force that two of our students are expected to face court today charged in relation to an alleged sexual assault,” Brennan said.“Sexual violence has no place in our community, and the College stands with all victims of sexual violence.“It is abhorrent what is alleged by Police and is the antithesis of what we stand for and the values that we embrace.”“These are very serious of allegations and the judicial process must now be allowed to take its course free of any commentary.“We ask everyone to avoid speculation or sharing of information that could impact the parties involved or the independent process now underway.”Three teenagers who attend a prestigious private boys school have been charged with a sexual assault, with the alleged victim aged 14.The latest case comes a week after three students from a prestigious boys school were accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in an alleyway.Two 14-year-olds and a 13-year-old who attend Sydney’s Scots College were arrested last Thursday over allegations stemming from July 22.It is alleged the trio sexually assaulted the girl in an alleyway in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.Scots College said it was co-operating with police regarding the incident.“The Scots College is aware three students are under investigation by NSW Police in relation to an alleged incident that occurred outside school hours … the college became aware of further information through a media release issued by police (on Thursday),” the school said in a statement.“We believe it is important the police investigation is allowed to take its course and it would not be appropriate for the college to comment further.”Police executed search warrants at a number of homes last Thursday morning before arresting the trio.They seized electronic devices that will be forensically examined, along with replica firearms, a Glock-style BB gun, three laser pointers and an allegedly stolen number plate.One 14-year-old and a 13-year-old were charged with aggravated sexual assault in the company of others and two counts of aggravated sexual touching.The other 14-year-old was charged with aggravated sexual assault in the company of others and one count of aggravated sexual touching.The three students were granted bail and will face a children’s court on August 25.Scots College is one Sydney’s most expensive schools with year 12 fees of more than $50,000 a year.1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732)National Sexual Abuse and Redress Support Service 1800 211 028-with AAP
